ARTURO VALDEZ, 62, a resident of Cañones, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Serafin Valdez; in-laws, Genaro and Eva Velasquez. Mr. Valdez is survived by his wife, Aurelia Valdez; children, Arturo Valdez (Candie) and Angela Valdez (Rigo); grandson who he raised and loved dearly, Andrew Valdez; mother, Lucy Valdez; brother, Martin Valdez (Georgia); sisters, Dolores Valdez and Higinia Gallegos (Luis); Leroy Gonzales whom he loved dearly; very dear best friend, Steven Serrano and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Cañones with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Cañones. Burial to follow at the Family Ranch in Cañones with the following serving as pallbearers, Arturo Valdez, Andrew Valdez, Leroy Gonzales, Steven Serrano, Rigo Garcia, Marty Valdez, Wilfred Villapando, Isaiah Velasquez, Kenneth Lovato and Mike Soberanes. Honorary pallbearers named, Ronnie Serrano, Tony Valdez, Danny Vigil, Paul Baca, Leonard Velasquez, Luis Gallegos, Jr., Richard Villapando, Jeremiah Gallegos, Daniel Velasquez, Vidal Velasquez, Frank Lovato, Michael Gonzales, Abel Valdez, Juan Sandoval, Toby Sandoval, Benny Serrano, Isaac Lovato, Luis Lucero, Bobby Valdez, Ralph Valdez, Fidel Serrano and the Brothers of St. Michael the Archangels Monastery.
