Arsenio “Archie” Sanchez 75, a resident of Albuquerque, originally of Ojo Sarco, passed away on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his parents, Avenago and Terecina Sanchez; grandfather, Nemecio Sanchez; great aunts that raised him, Libradita, Reyecitas and Avelina Sanchez; brother, Arturo Sanchez; sister, Elizaida Martinez; mother-in-law, Ernestina Lopez and sister-in-law, Esther Miller. Mr. Sanchez retired from PNM, he was a faithful man that loved God, loved to be in the mountains, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Nellie Rosalie Sanchez; daughters, Vera McKnight and husband Carl and Teresa Sanchez and fiancé Gary Dow all of Albuquerque; son, Chris Romero and fiancé Robin Romero of Texas; grandchildren, Kamron and Elijah McKnight of Albuquerque and Kylie Romero of Texas; brother, Orlando Sanchez of Ojo Sarco; sister, Rosina Martinez and husband Horacio of Chimayo; sister-in-law, Lou Martinez and husband Wilfred of Chimayo; brothers-in-law, Eli Lopez and wife Carol of Rio Rancho, Michael Lopez and wife Lillian of La Mesilla, Valerio Lopez and wife Roxanne of Rio Rancho, Kenneth Miller of Las Cruces and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, Godchildren, friends and loved ones. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque. A second rosary will be recited on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Kamron McKnight, Elijah McKnight, Carl McKnight, Gary Dow, Michael Lopez and Kylie Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Horacio Martinez, Nathaniel Sanchez and Robert Lopez.
