Arnold Sanchez, 72, a resident of Chamita, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2014 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silviano and Jesusita Sanchez; grandson, Joshua Sanchez; brother, Michael Sanchez; sisters, Susie Sanchez, Angie Martinez and Andreita Panas. Arnold liked the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting in his younger years. He enjoyed watching old television movies and spending time with his family. He was a lector for several years at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his loving wife of many years, Eva Sanchez; two sons, Jose Ramon Sanchez and Arnold Sanchez, Jr. and companion Margaret; one granddaughter, Alicia Sanchez and companion Lucio; one great-grandson, Angelo Gallegos; four brothers, Toby and Paul Sanchez, Leo Sanchez and wife Cress and Lorimar Sanchez and wife Maria; sister-in-law, Lupita Gress and husband Robert and brother-in-law, Evaristo Chavez, many nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at the San Pedro Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Carlos Lovato, Lorenzo Sanchez, Eli Garcia, Andres Padilla, Benjamin Trujillo, and Lucio Gallegos. The family of Arnold Sanchez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
