Armando F. Age- 88 San Pedro Montoya

Armando F. Montoya – a resident of San Pedro and in recent years of La Mesilla, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2011. He was born April 11, 1922 to Flavio and Petronila Montoya. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta in 1991. He is survived by his children: Isaac of Houston, Texas; Karla of La Mesilla; Tom and his wife Brenda of La Mesilla; Phil of Albuquerque; Luella Aragon and husband Diego of Albuquerque; Mary K. Maestas and husband Ernest of La Mesilla and Mando and wife Sylvia of Ranchitos. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Vanessa, Brian, Kelsi, Daniel, Kayla and Analycia Montoya; sisters: Pita Trujillo of Albuquerque, Flora Montoya of San Pedro, Bertha Lucero and husband Tony of Española and Ruby Sanders of Albuquerque; sister-in-law: Theresa Bachicha and husband Benny of Santa Fe. The family is grateful to his caregiver, Maria Salinas who provided Mr. Montoya with comfort and compassion during his illness. He also leaves behind his dog and loyal companion, Sparky. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Carrying Mr. Montoya to his final resting place will be his sons: Isaac, Tom, Phil and Mando and his grandsons: Brian and Daniel Montoya; honorary pallbearers: Vanessa Montoya, Kelsi Montoya, Kayla Montoya, Analycia Montoya, Ernest Maestas, Sylvia Montoya, Diego Aragon, Brenda Montoya, Gilbert P.T.
