ARLENE FRESQUEZ ROMERO, 54, a resident of Dixon, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her father, Juan A. Fresquez; brother, John A. Fresquez; maternal grandparents, Juan Armando and Manuelita Griego; uncle, Juan Armando Griego, Jr. and nephew, Gabriel Fresquez. Arlene was an excellent cook and loved fishing and camping. She was as RSVP Volunteer for the Dixon Senior Citizens Center. She always contributed to the needs of all her family, friends and neighbors. She worked at the Jones Law Firm in Santa Fe for 22 years and the Española Presbyterian Hospital for 10 years. She will be dearly missed and always in our hearts. Mrs. Romero is survived by her husband, Robert Romero of 35 years; loving mother, Nancy G. Fresquez and Demostenes Brito; sisters, Gloria Garcia and husband Harold of Llano, Nancy Leigh Fresquez and her niece that was the love of her life, Kennidy Ortiz of Dixon; parents-in-law Bobby and Orlinda Romero, loved brothers and sisters-in-law of Alcalde and California; sister-in-law, Cindy Maestas and husband David of Los Luceros; uncle, Isaac R. and Tarsila Griego of Albuquerque; aunt, Mabel Trujillo of Fairview; God-sons, Daniel Garcia and Kenny Romero; nephews, Adrian Garcia, Johnny Fresquez, David, Jr., Lawrence, Jason and Michael Romero; niece, Deandra Fresquez; dear friends, Debbie Sanchez and Tonita Chacon who cared for her in her final days and numerous relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial to follow at the Dixon Catholic Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers named are, Daniel Garcia, Juanito Fresquez, Adrian Garcia, Kenny Romero, Jr., Robert Montoya, Minito Martinez, Dlyin, Thelma Martinez, Martha Sanchez and Donald Diaz and Walter Herrera. In lieu of flowers donations may be made towards funeral costs to the funeral home. The family of Arlene Fresquez Romero has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
