Antonio Ernesto Trujillo (“Payaso”) passed on November 6, 2024. Raised in La Villita, NM.
Antonio was predeceased by his father Alfred Trujillo, maternal grandparents/Godparents Jose Ernesto Sr. and Bernie Marquez, paternal grandparents Nick and Ramona Trujillo, uncle Donald J. Marquez, father figure Bengie Diaz, niece Syrena Trujillo, cousin Xavier Marquez, and Buster, his beloved dog.
Antonio lived life a day at a time on his terms. A devout Catholic he always carried his rosary and wore his holy medals. Antonio had a huge heart and made friends easily wherever he walked. He loved the outdoors, lowriders, reading, the Raiders, attending Feast Days, dances, and other ceremonies at Ohkay Owingeh, and especially being around family and friends.
Antonio leaves behind his beloved companion Janelle Salazar, mother Christina Marquez Trujillo, brothers Alfred (Barbara), Jose, and sister Ursula (Cris) Trujillo, nephews Walter and Zach Trujillo. Tias and mother figures Consuelo Marquez, Rose Manning, and Bernadette Norma Marquez; Uncles and father figures Gerald Marquez (Susie), Tom Manning, Jose Ernesto Marquez Jr. (Kate); and special Aunt Sharon Marquez. Also survived by his great aunt Helen Maestas, paternal aunts Jane Garcia (Julian), Gloria Naranjo (Michael), Ruby Valdez (Benjie), Bernice Chavez (Wilfred), and Tina Borrego (Michael); and countless other family members and friends. Also missing him is Baby, his cat.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, a Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, with Mass to follow at 11:30 am at San Juan de Bautista Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, NM. Burial to follow at La Villita Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers: John Duran, George Martinez, Roman Sanchez, and Primos, Estevan Marquez; Lisa, Keira, Luke, and Scarlett Garcia; David, Amaya, and Mark Manning; Amanda Barreras and Andrea Marquez; and Claudia, Ella, Landon, and Logan Benavidez.
