Antonio “Billy White” Aragon, age 88, of Espanola, NM, passed away on September 21, 2024, peacefully leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and unwavering faith. Antonio was born on December 8, 1935, in Angosturo, NM, in a suburb of Corral de Piedra.

Antonio was preceded in death by his parents Salomon and Anita Aragon; siblings Lucille, Helen and Lorenzo “Humphrey” Aragon.

Billy dedicated 22 years to the National Guard exemplifying commitment and service to his country. His strong Catholic faith guided his life and shaped his relationships making a mentor and friend to many. His kindness, humility and generosity left a profound impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

Billy lost his father to pneumonia at the age of 16. As the oldest of six siblings, he took on the responsibilities of managing chores and caring for his family. Providing wise counsel to his mother regarding his brothers and sisters. He remained in the home with his mother until her passing after which he continued to honor their shared legacy.

Antonio was a devoted father and grandfather.

Billy is survived by his daughters Sherrie Aragon and Julie Trujillo (Mario); grandson Donavan Montoya and his brother Roman Aragon (Sylvia); sister Barbara Vigil (Ralph), his Goddaughters Angelina Vazquez (Jason); and many nieces and nephews. He is also mourned by his dear friend Vera Vazquez and Powers (Daniel).

As we gather to celebrate this remarkable life, we will remember a man whose faith and love will forever inspire us. His spirit will continue to guide us and his legacy will remain on our hearts. 

Rest in peace Billy, you will dearly be missed, but never forgotten.

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, NM, with Mass to follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Espanola, NM.
