Antonia "Tonie" M. - Age 66 - La Me Trujillo

ANTONIA “TONIE” M. TRUJILLO, 66, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, and a lifelong resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She went home to be with our Lord, following a short and courageous battle with cancer and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alcalde on July 5, 1944 to Jose Benancio and Lugarda A. Martinez. Antonia was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Benancio and Lugarda A. Martinez; in-laws, Juan and Maria Braublia Trujillo; niece, Janelle Martinez; nephews, Joseph Martinez and Ivan Trujillo; sisters-in-law, Nora Voight, Candie Valdez and Esther Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Adrian Trujillo, Phil Trujillo and Mike Archuleta. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe L. Trujillo, whom she loved immensely and always put him first before herself; children, Luisita Duran and husband Michael of Santa Cruz, Antonio Trujillo and wife Martha of La Mesilla and Janet Duran and husband Jerry of Guachupangue; grandchildren, Justine Martinez, Matthew Trujillo, Janel Ortiz and husband Melvin, Lloyd Duran and wife Alisha and Gerald Duran and special friend Desiree and her daughter, Jamilla Jaramillo; great-granddaughters, Kayla DeVargas, Amberly Ortiz, Marissa Ortiz, Destiny Duran and Melayah Duran; and a very dear Yorkie whom she loved named Rusty; sister, Rosanna Padilla and husband Rosendo; brother, Nestor Martinez and wife Sylvia; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Trujillo and wife Christy, Armando Trujillo and wife Teresa, Manuel Valdez and Bill Voight and wife Pam; best friends, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Montoya and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Lloyd Duran, Matthew Trujillo, Johnny Padilla, Nestor Martinez, Derrick Voight and Leo Valdez. Honorary pallbearers named are all her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. The family of Antonia “Tonie” M. Trujillo has entrusted her funeral arrangements to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
