Antonia Mascareñas, 23, a resident of Chamita passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Elviria Mascareñas; uncle, Larry Mascareñas; grandpa, Dr. Rudy Gonzales. Antonia had a very bubbly, bright and happy spirit. She always could make everyone laugh. Everybody that came into Antonia’s life, she loved with all her heart. She was always loving and caring to all who were around her. Antonia was always willing to lend a helping hand and she loved everybody’s children as if they were her own. She loved her job, taking care of elderly and loved them also with all her heart. Antonia is survived by her mother, Anna M. Garcia and husband Herman; father, Roberto Mascareñas and companion Dorothy; brother, Alejandro Mascareñas and companion LaVerne; sister, Andrea Mascareñas and companion Carlos Garcia; sister, Estrella Lopez; brothers: Johnathan and Daniel Lopez; grandmother, Amelia Gonzales; grandfather, Samuel Herrera and wife Tita; maternal great-grandparents, Frank and Mary Padilla; nieces: Cruzcita and Elena Garcia; nephew, David Garcia; aunts: Rachel Herrera and companion Robert, Yvonne Herrera, Stephanie Salazar and husband Derrick, Megan Gonzales and companion David. Cremation is being planned. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. also at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the San Pedro Catholic Cemetery in Chamita.
