Antoinette Michelle Salazar, 55, was born April 23, 1969, to Jose Wlias (Lee) Salazar and Shirley Salazar. She was raised in Espanola and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in Santa Fe, NM. She moved to California where she worked for several years. She then moved to Chandler, Arizona where she resided until her passing on June 5, 2024.

Antoinette was bright and artistically talented. She loved music and enjoyed cooking. Antoinette will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her father Jose Elias (Lee) Salazar, stepfather Gerald DeVargas, paternal grandparents Ramon and Helen Salazar, Maternal grandparents John Marsh and Elvira (Vera) Marsh-Martinez, aunt and uncles Angela Vigil (Alvin), Gilbert Salazar, James Martsh, John Martsh (godfather).

Antoinette is survived by her mother Shirley DeVargas, beloved daughters Madelyn James and Jolee James, and their father John James, sister Shawn Rios (Robert), aunts and uncles Carmen Martsh (godmother), Rosella Martsh, Paul and Barbara Fresquez, Vangie Salazar, Donald and Antonia Salazar, Stella Valdez, Shirley Lujan, Margie Martinez, Eliane Rice, Lorraine Vigil, Pam Quihuis, Johnny DeVargas, Philip and Timothy DeVargas, nieces and nephews Jamie, Ryan, Leah (Patrick), Ava, Alexis, Marcus, Phoenix, Javier and Olivia, great nieces, Love and Eris, and great nephew Dante, along with many cousins and friends, especially Elaine Hickman, Michelle Romero, Ramona Martinez who always stood by her and helped her in any way she could.

Services will be held at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz, NM, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with a Rosary at 10:30 am. Mass will follow at 11:30 am with a burial at Holy Cross Cemetary in El Llano, NM.
