ANTHONY ANGELO VILLAREAL, 40, a resident of Alcalde, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 23, 2012 and is now reunited with his sister, Abbie J. Villareal, who he deeply missed. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Abelina Medina; paternal grandparents, Theresina Amarante Villareal and uncle, Delfido Villareal. He was a very loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who loved him. He loved the New York Mets and the New Orleans Saints. He enjoyed watching his kids play sports. He was a member for 20 plus years of the I.B.E.W. Local 611. Mr. Villareal is survived by his wife, Linda Maes-Villareal; children, Loren Maes, Brett Maes-Villareal and Katelyn Maes-Villareal; parents, Juan and Katie Villareal all of Alcalde; brothers, Hector and Johnny Villareal of Alcalde; sister, Rebekkah Aguilar and husband James Aguilar of Española; parents-in-law, James C. and Rose D. Maes; brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David S. Maes and family of Rio Rancho and Mr. and Mrs. Jim J. Maes and family of Las Cruces and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. Cremation is being planned. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at a later date. Honorary pallbearers named are, Jarrod and Tommy Villareal, Santiago Aguilar, Michael Dominguez, David Patterson, Justin Valdez, Babbie Cortez, Angelo Atencio, Franklin Sanchez, Brian Villareal and Jacob Maes.
