Anthony Fabian Montaño , age 52, a resident of Pojoaque, went home to Our Lord on Friday, January 5, 2018.  Anthony was born on September 13, 1965, and is preceded in death by his father, Fabian; maternal grandparents Reyes and Trinidad Romero; paternal grandparents Leonardo Manzanares and Basilisa Sanchez; uncle Juan Romero; Godparents Silviano and Estefanita Lujan; nephews Thomas Pino and David Sanchez; niece Kisha Pino.  Anthony is survived by his mother Frances; sisters Loretta Sanchez, Theresa Thomas and husband Davis, and Sylvia Martinez and husband Carlos.  Nephews Phil (Melanie) Viarrial, Gerald Varela, Leonard (Andrea) Pino, Jason (Hilary) Martinez, and Jeremy (Aileen) Martinez; nieces Darlene (Robert) Martinez and Reyecita (Joseph) Viarrial; Godchildren, Dyani Pino and Jeremy Martinez; uncle Alfonso (Vivian) Romero.  Many great-nieces and nephews, friends, and a very special friend Mrs. Frances Lujan.  Anthony was a lifetime resident of Pojoaque, a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, a member of the Union Catolica Del Sagrado Corazaon de Jesus,  Pojoaque High School Class of 1985 Alumni, and an employee of the U.S. Park service for 8 years, plus a Special Olympics participant who received several awards and ribbons.  Above all, Anthony loved Our Lord and held a strong faith in His love.  In life, Anthony loved the band Kiss, fishing and camping, Comic Con, everything comics and super heroes, puzzle books and the WWE.  His favorite football team was the Broncos. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christina burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial to follow at the Pojoaque Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Phillip Viarreal, Jason Martinez, Jeremy Martinez, Leonard Pino, Carlos Martinez, and Davis Thomas.  Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Herrera, Derick Viarrial, Mike Garcia, Keith Duran, and Gerald Varela.  The family of Anthony Fabian Montano has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
