Anselmo Trujillo

Anselmo A. Trujillo, (Mr. Trujillo), age 89, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather
educator, avid angular, and a longtime Espanola resident, after a short illness has returned to his
favorite fishing hole. When he passed, he was surrounded by family and enjoying a favorite pastime, a movie, at home on August 10, 2022.  Anselmo has always been ambitious and eagerly pursued what he desired from the time in the Marine Corp, during the Korean Conflict, to returning to NM to pursue a teaching degree at NM Highlands University, and later he went on to pursue graduate degrees at UNM, Reed College, and Denver University.  Mr. Trujillo was a dedicated educator, counselor, and administrator, for nearly 40 years. Teaching wasn't just a means to provide for his family to him, it was a lifestyle.  It permeated his whole life.

He is survived by his wife (Aggie) of 69 years, sons Lorenzo (Margaret), Lenoardo (Elizabeth), and Luis Trujillo, and by daughters Loreta (Tony) Martinez, and Chana (Albert) Romero. Grand children Anna Trujillo (David), Chris Trujillo, Diego Montoya, Michael, Marcos, Antonio, and Matthew Trujillo.

Great grandchildren, Sage, Jayden, and Orion Montoya, Bryanna, Brooke, and Brandyn Trujillo, Avyn Trujillo.

 A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday September 16, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola with a burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

The family of Anselmo A. Trujillo “Mr. Trujillo” has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.
