ANNIE ROBERTA CASEY BRASIER, died at home, with family by her side on Monday, January 31, 2011, following a lengthy illness. Roberta was born in Hopewell, New Jersey on December 10, 1929. She graduated from Wilson College in 1951 and then went to work at Princeton University, Forrestal Research Center for Dr. John Wheeler on the Matterhorn Project. In 1953, Roberta moved to Los Alamos, where she met Robert Brasier. They were married in July 1954. Upon moving to Los Alamos, Roberta worked as a computer programmer at Group T-1 until her first child was born, and then she later went back to work at the Lab in C-Division, as a data analyst. Roberta was active for many years as a volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary. She had many hobbies and interests during her life, including boating and scuba diving with her husband, family and friends, traveling, walking, reading, knitting and crochet. In addition, she was a member of a bridge club for over 50 years. Roberta is survived by her husband, Robert, of almost 57 years; 4 children, Marilyn Brasier (and husband, Doug Parrish), Allan Brasier (and wife, Anne), David Brasier (and significant other, Julie Hubbard) and Lee Ann Fults (and husband, Brian); 5 grandchildren, Karen Young, Joshua Brasier, Jacob Brasier, Jason Davis and Andrew Parrish; 3 step-granddaughters, Lesley Parrish, Jessica Fults and Lindsay Fults; and by Julie’s son, Ian Hubbard. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Brasier and her grandson, Robert Brasier. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road in Los Alamos. A private burial will be held on a later date, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Los Alamos Hospital Auxiliary or to the ALS Association.
