Anita Martinez

ANITA MARTINEZ, 87, a resident of Dixon, a loving Mother, Grandmother and sister passed away of a short illness on Monday, February 22, 2016. She was born on March 15, 1928 to the late Leonardo and Victoriana Martinez of Dixon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Martinez, daughters Sally Ann and Rose Marie and son Rudy Martinez. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Gilberto Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Emilia Maes and Mabel Martinez. She is survived by Paul Martinez, Jr. of Chimayo (Bea), Sally Valdez of Velarde (Larry), Elena Arellano of Embudo, Norman Martinez of Dixon (Doris), Ricky Martinez of Velarde (Annette) and a loving sister Juanita Gonzales, two sisters in law, Lucia Martinez and Adela Martinez of Dixon. Anita had 15 Grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The following will serve as pallbearers Pablo Martinez, Javier Arellano, Philip Valdez, Latisha Martinez, Norman Martinez, Jr., Andrea Martinez, honorary pallbearers are Daniel Martinez, Joel Martinez, and Teresa Marquez.  Public visitation will begin on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a Wake service to follow at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
