Anita - Age 88 - Ranchitos - Marquez

Anita Marquez, 88, a lifelong resident of Ranchitos passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Delfin Marquez and her parents, Juan and Leonor Viarreal. Anita worked as a cook for 27 years at the San Juan Elementary. She loved to sing and dance, her favorite song was “Don’t let the stars get in your eyes”. She enjoyed being outdoors and liked to go cruising. Because she was widowed very young she was mother and father to her children. She loved the holidays and telling her children about growing up. Anita enjoyed seeing parades and attending the Española Fiestas. Ms. Marquez is survived by her sons, Frutoso Viarreal and wife Porfie, Joe Marquez; her daughter, Angie Pacheco all of Ranchitos; grandchildren, Ronnie and Debbie Viarreal, Juanito, Joseph and Theresa Marquez and Chassity Pacheco; great-grandchildren, Sonya Marquez, Tristen Viarreal, Isaac Morales, Julian Morales and Jaren Marquez; close family members, Tito Terrazas Jr., Teresita Vigil and Susie Rascon and many other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the Alcalde catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Ronnie Viarreal, Joseph Marquez, Juanito Marquez, Isaiah Apodaca, Tito Terrazas Jr., and Ernesto “Barley” Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Chassity Pacheco, Debbie Viarreal and Theresa Marquez. The family of Anita Marquez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
