ANGIE R. MARTINEZ, 74, a resident of Fairview, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Estella Martinez; husband, Fidel Martinez Jr.; brother, George Martinez; infant son, Francis Xavier. She received her master’s degree in business administration from NMHU in Portales, NM. She was a computer teacher at the Santa Fe Vo-tech before retiring from the State of New Mexico as a computer analyst. She then pursued her dream of owning her own business and started Compunet computer services. Angie was a renowned recording artist and performed in Nashville Tennessee, bringing home 2nd place. She was a devout Catholic, loved music and gardening, but her heart was her family. She is survived by her children, Anissa Martinez (Jerome), JonCarlo Martinez (Karen), Jovan Lopez (Phil); her longtime partner Edmund Martinez grandchildren, Vanessa Ramirez (Josh), Jeramay Martinez, Santanna Lopez, Kiara Rael, JonLuke Martinez, CarloRey Martinez, and Jaxson Lopez, great-grandchildren, Jacob Gallegos, Marquez Vigil, Adrian Chavez, and Domonic Tafoya; siblings, Albert Martinez (Joan); special family members, The Salazar family from Chamita and the Martinez family from Chimayo. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are JonLuke Martinez, CarloRey Martinez, Jacob Gallegos, Joshua Ramirez, Jerome Maestas, and Phil Lopez, honorary pallbearers will be Marquez Vigil and Adrian Chavez. A special thanks to Fresenius kidney care center in Espanola, Father Clarence Maes for the wonderful mass, Melissa Salazar Porter for singing the mass so beautifully and praying the rosary. Also, to all family and friends who called and sent donations, food, and prayers, Kathy Lucero for her compassionate care-taking and all close family and friends who helped set up and serve for the luncheon.
