Angie Morfin-Romero, a resident of Española, NM went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 10, 2012. Angie was a loving mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family and meant the world to her. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She welcomed the New Year with great enthusiasm by cooking her favorite dishes for her family and friends. One of her many passions were the great outdoors where she loved hunting & fishing. Angie loved gardening and took great pride tending to her flowers and plants. One very important characteristic of Angie was that she was very compassionate especially with the sick and those who needed help. She was the type of person that would go out of her way to help those who were ill. She will be missed by those who knew & loved her. Angie was preceded in death by her son, David Morfin; parents, Manuel and Selida Morfin; sister, Linda Garcia; brothers: Tomas, Josue and Fermin Morfin; her Companion, Mariano Gonzales Angie is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann and husband Rick Valerio of Arroyo Seco; grandsons: David Lujan, Adam Valerio, Richard Valerio and wife Jessica, Ashley and Anna Valerio all of Albuquerque, NM; sisters: Ida Madrid of Hernandez and Fidelia Gurule and husband Leo of Española; brother, Benito Morfin and wife Annette of Coyote, NM; numerous godchildren and other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina, NM with burial to follow at Gallina Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: David Lujan, Adam Valerio, Manuel Morfin, Manny Morfin, Gilbert Madrid, Leon Gurule; honorary pallbearers: Julie Garcia, Evelyn Martinez, Sheila Castillo, Geraldine DeVargas, Roberta Morfin, Andrew Madrid, Priscilla Serrano. The family of Angie Morfin-Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
