Angelina “Angie” Duran, 83, a resident of Las Vegas, originally from Truchas, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, with her daughter, Consuelo; grandson, Filito; and her companion, Manuel, by her side.  She was preceded in death by her son, Filiberto Dominguez Jr.; parents, Manuel Romero and Margarita Torres; husband, Ted Duran; brother, Presciliano Padilla; son-in-law, William Corr; and nephew, Elijio Padilla Jr.
Angie spent most of her life living in Las Vegas, NM, where she operated a bakery, maintained a small greenhouse and a small vegetable garden.  She ventured into several surrounding communities in a van selling her baked goods and homemade tortillas.  She made many friends during her trips.  When her oldest grandchildren began school at NMHU, they lived with her and she made sure that they and many of their friends enjoyed a good home cooked meal as often as possible.  She welcomed many into her home, including her dogs and her late parrot, which she missed dearly.
Angie is survived by her daughter, Consuelo Corr; daughter-in-law, Annabelle Dominguez; grandchildren, Filiberto (Valerie), Angela (William), Dionicio (Estrella)Dominguez and Christine Vogt (John); great-grandchildren, Miranda, Dionicio, Juliana, Estevan and William; step-children through her husband Ted which she helped raise, and their extended families, the late Tony Duran (Loretta), Christine Izaguirre (Jose), Tom Duran (Pam), Ben Duran (Blanca) and Kathy Diaz (Peter); brothers, Manuel Romero (Dorothy), Alfredo Padilla and Elijio Padilla (Virginia); companion, Manuel Orozco and his extended family; and, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.
