Andrew John - Age 27 - Los Luceros - Gomez

ANDREW JOHN GOMEZ “DREW”, 27, a resident of Los Luceros, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Los Alamos Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jose Mino Lopez; paternal grandfather, Levi Gomez; aunt, Darlene Lopez and special cousin, Jesse Colombe. Andrew graduated in 2003 and worked in transports in Española and Taos. He was a correctional officer in Santa Fe. Andrew loved his boys, they were his world and his mom was his best friend. He was full of life and was always making people laugh no matter what the situation was. He loved his bikes, the outdoors, fishing, camping at Big Meadows in Colorado and took pride in his appearance. Mr. Gomez is survived by his sons, Brandyn and Braydyn Gomez; mother of his children, Ericka Velasquez; parents, Andy and Martha Gomez of Alcalde; sister, Leann Murray and companion Billy Till; nephews, Jeremiah Murray of Rio Rancho and Ethyn Trujillo of Albuquerque; considered a sister, Apryl Velasquez and companion David Trujillo; considered as a brother, Michael Velasquez of Servietta; mother-in-law, Victoria Chavez and husband Michael of El Guique; father-in-law, Ronnie Velasquez of Servietta; maternal grandmother, Rafaelita “Lela” Lopez of Alcalde; paternal grandparents, Anna Marie Gomez of Albuquerque and Mary and Bob of Del Norte, Colorado; maternal uncle, Rick Lopez and companion Bernadette of Alcalde; maternal aunt, Darlene Colombe and husband Denny of Rio Rancho and Diana and Salamon Manzanares of Abiquiu; paternal uncle, Jesse Gomez of La Villita, Thomas and Maxine of Española; paternal aunts, Kathy and Ruma Peña of Albuquerque, Jane Torrez of Albuquerque and numerous other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a Devotional Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at The Rock Christian Center in Española with burial to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde with the following serving as pallbearers, Paul, Daniel and Joseph Colombe, Chris Lopez, Michael Velasquez, Gilbert Martinez and Kevin Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers named are, Apryl Velasquez, Billy Till, Paul Jr., Matthew, Michael, Destiny and Jesse Colombe, JamieLynn and Sophia Lopez, Rosalie and Ana Marie Montoya, Manuel Peña, Anthony and Mike Gomez, Priscilla Peña, Veronica Velasquez and Michael Gomez.
