Robert “Andrew” Borrego, passed away from a short illness on October 15, 2024, at his home in Santa Cruz, NM. He was born February 13, 1961, in Fairview, NM. He was 7th of twelve children and was raised in El Guique, NM.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Arturo and Arabella Borrego; maternal grandparents Apolonio and Arminda Gallegos, and paternal grandparents Rafael and Deluvina Borrego; brothers Floyd and wife Debbie and Ralph Borrego; aunts: Elsie Gonzales, Chris Gonzales and Lita Apodaca and a close friend Guru Bachan Khalsa.
He is survived by the following siblings; sisters, Rosabelle DeNoi of Albuquerque, MaryAnn Martinez of Belen, Pauline and Michelle Borrego of El Guique and brothers Michael, Gilbert, Raymond, Johnny and Jacob Borrego also of El Guique and sixteen nephews and nieces and many great-nephews/nieces.
Aunts and Uncles: Andres and Mary Gallegos (his baptismal Padrinos), Mary Gallegos, Jane Trujillo (Tony Trujillo), Connie Orona (Luke Orona) and Mel Apodaca; and numerous cousins. Special friends, Jeff Ferrar, Israel Sandoval and Harihar Khalsa.
Andrew was a mechanic from an early age following in his father’s footsteps; a heavy equipment operator and a farmer at heart. He worked for LYF Foundation / Yogi Bhajan Ranch in Sombrillo, NM, for 18 years. Andrew was a very humble and meek man with many good qualities. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who were in need.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at San Juan Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at El Guique Cemetery.
Donations may be made to La Capilla in El Guique at San Juan de Bautista Catholic Church .
