Andrew was born to Andrew Aguilar and Terri Benavidez on October 26, 1988, in Espanola, NM.
Andrew's life was tragically taken by gun violence on June 14, 2022, in Albuquerque, NM, where
he was living at the time of his death.
Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Terri; grandmothers, Profiria Benavidez
and Alice Pacheco (Romero); aunts, Josie Benavidez, Rosa Benavidez, and Barbara Bernal; uncles,
Bonifacio Benavidez and Paul Bernal; and special cousin, Adam Benavidez.
He is survived by his sister, Trish Trujillo (Jameson Baker); brother, Diego Aguilar; and his nieces
and nephews; Aaliyah and Cyrus Trujillo; Paul and Ethan Baker; and Xanaiah, Audrianna, Auriella,
Adrianne, and Aries Aguilar.
Andrew's many other family members and friends loved and will miss him so much.
Andrew was an Oak, as the meaning of his name, "strong and manly." He was funny, loving,
intelligent, curious, courageous, and bold. He was an adventurer and computational genius and
evangelist. He found joy in conversation and music and he loved and explored the Universe.
Andrew found strength in God's word and held close scriptures: Romans 8:38-39, Revelation
21:3-4, and Job 14:14-15. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who wait on the Lord
shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be
weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Rosary will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory at 4:00p.m. and burial will be at San Jose Church on July 2, 2022 at 12:00p.m.
