Andres Castaneda

ANDRES CASTANEDA. 60, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Estela Valensiano. Andres liked to visit and talk with our neighbor, Mr. Bustos and his friend Rafael best known as Rafa. He enjoyed fishing until his capacities diminished with his illness. Andres loved his grandchildren; he loved to watch their shows and talk with them.  He loved all their pets, cats, dogs and turtles.  Andres is survived by his wife, Shirley Reynosa; raised as grandchildren, Pantaleon, Vanessa and Lexi Herrera; stepdaughter, Concha Herrera; children, Andres Castaneda Jr., Danny Castaneda, Raquel Castaneda, and Crystal Campos; 11 grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Tony Herrera (Anita), Johnny Herrera(Erasue),  father, Jose Angel Castaneda; brothers and sisters, Maria, Pepe, Selia, Elbira, Isabel, Manuela, Armando Castateda Valensiano; sisters-in-law, Edna Herrera, and Sabinita Herrera (Emilio Orozco), plus brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas, with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. and Burial to follow at the Truchas Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Pantaleon Herrera, Tony Herrera, Rafa Enriquez, Ray Corriz, Jose Ramos, Andres and Castaneda Jr., honorary pallbearers named are Vanessa and Lexi Herrera.  The family of Andres Castaneda has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477 – www.devargasfuneral.com
