Andres - Age 72 - Chimayo - Vigil

ANDRES ROBERTO (BOBBY) VIGIL, 72, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amarante and Beroniz Vigil; grandparents, Cayetano and Severa Martinez; father and mother-in-law, Eloy and Guadalupe Herrera; brothers-in-law, Joe T., Timmy and Jose Maria Herrera. He retired after more than 30 of service to the Los Alamos National Laboratories. Bobby was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, working on his oldie and visiting the casino. As a younger man he enjoyed fishing, hunting, going cruising and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was loved and will be missed. Mr. Vigil is survived by his wife of 50 years, Minnie Vigil; daughter, Barbara Vigil and companion Manuel Griego; son, Andres M. Vigil and wife Michele all of Chimayo; grandchildren, Philbert Lopez of Chimayo and Anndrea Vigil and companion Augustine Zamora of Alcalde; brothers and sisters, Chris Vigil and wife Carla of La Mesilla, Roger Vigil and wife Kathy of Chimayo, Felix Vigil and wife Stella of Chimayo, Cecilia Montoya and husband Arturo of La Puebla, Jesse Vigil and wife Gloria of Chimayo and Molly Herrera and husband Gary of Chimayo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eloy Herrera and wife Isabel of Nambe, Lydia Archuleta of Nambe, Abby Salazar and husband Phil of Española, Shirley Hernandez and husband Charlie of Santa Fe, Jesus, Tommy, Sammy and Donald Herrera all of Nambe and Julie Roberts and husband Preston of Los Lunas; special niece, Elisha Lopez; loving pet and best friend, Peanut and numerous nieces, nephews, God-children and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Tony Trujillo, Joel and Dicky Vigil, Augustine Zamora, Isaiah Lopez and Andrew Vigil. Honorary pallbearers named are, Ray Gallegos, Manuel Griego, Berlinda Martinez, Petrita Garduño, Eloy Herrera, Donald Herrera, Phil Salazar, Leo and Bobby Archuleta and his nieces and nephews. The family of Andres Roberto (Bobby) Vigil has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
