Andres - 70 - El Duende - Maestas

Andres Maestas, age 70, of El Duende, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 17, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Andres was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Antonia Maestas and his brothers, Simon and Gilberto Maestas. Andres was born on January 15, 1940 in Chili, New Mexico. Andres was a warm-hearted man who helped everyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends (especially his grandchildren), going fishing, being outdoors and he loved to mechanic. Andres was a truck driver by trade and spent much of his time on the road. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children; Diane Maestas Duchene of Phoenix, Mike of Placitas, Andrew and wife Darlene of Española, Steven and wife Yvonne of Albuquerque, Veronica Wing and husband James of Rio Rancho, Samuel and wife Emily of Alcalde, Mario and wife April of El Duende; grandchildren, Danielle, Sarah, Alissa, Mario, Arianna, Sandra, Andrew, Samuel and Eddie Maestas, Adam Quintana, Amber Spellman, Savannah Wing, Candace Sandoval and husband Eugene, Erica, Michelle and Justin Padilla; great-grandchildren, Dylan Sandoval and Ashton Flores; sisters, Mary and husband Manuel Herrera, Natividad (Nettie) Vigil, Inez and husband Alfonso Gallegos and Olivia Salazar; brothers, Antonio, Richard and wife Florence, Gaspar and wife Felicia, Armando and wife Annabelle, Margarito, Reyes and wife Georgia. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Cremation to follow rosary. A Memorial Mass celebrated on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez. Serving as pallbearers will be his children. Honorary pallbearers named are, Adam Quintana, Andrew Gallegos, Sal Ulibarri, and Imelda Trujillo. The Maestas family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
