Amelia Madrid, 79, a resident of Espanola, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31, 2023. She was surrounded by all her loved ones.
She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born on November 29, 1943, in Cebolla, NM to Jose De La Luz Madrid and Susie Chavez.
Amelia was a homemaker and loved spending time with family and friends. She worked as a waitress at Susie’s Cafe that her beloved mother owned in Taos Junction. She was a foster parent and loved to do arts and crafts every holiday with her grandchildren. She was a firecracker and knew how to make people laugh. She had her own way of showing how much she loved her family. She will always be loved and missed.
She was proceeded by death by her son Pres Salazar and granddaughter Lisa Marie Espinoza. Amelia is survived by her daughters, Charlene Valdez, Donna Salazar, Corinne Salazar, sons Richard Salazar, Paul Valdez, Kevin Salazar, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
