Amanda Rolfes, 87, Beloved and cherished wife of Raymond Rolfes for 30 years, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2014. Amanda was born in Espanola, NM on February 6, 1927 to the late Melecio Fresquez and Braulia Fresquez (Ortiz). She was one of seven children; her late sisters, Lugarda (Matias) Lujan, Gilda Quintana (Benjamin), and her late brother, Tony J. Fresquez (Lourdes). Amanda is survived by sisters, Amelia Sisneros (Tony) and Angelina Romero (Al) and brother, Ben Fresquez (Erma). She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, Jose D. Montoya, and her second husband of 8 years, William Rudometkin.\r\nAmanda had two children, her daughter, Claire Marie (Montoya) Brandin (Stephen), deceased and her surviving son, Joseph Montoya (wife, Jan Montoya). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Ibarra-Rivera, Benjamin Brandin, Mary Benvenuto and Joshua Montoya. Proud great-grandmother of Andrew Yustat (deceased), Alyssa Yustat, Addison Benvenuto, Aidan Benvenuto, Lucas Ibarra-Rivera, Stephen Ibarra-Rivera, and Brandon Ibarra-Rivera, also her many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog “Angel”.\r\nAmanda enjoyed a 40 year career at Brooks Cameras in San Francisco. She was an avid picture taker and her many photo albums will provide us many memories in the years to come. However, her biggest passion was always family. She will be greatly missed by all. \r\nWe would like to thank Aegis of San Francisco and most especially our mother’s caregiver, Juanita for the tender care she provided. You gave her the opportunity to live her last days in comfort and leave this world peacefully.\r\nA rosary will be recited on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada in Santa Cruz. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2014 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetetry. Serving as pallbearers Melecio Fresquez, Benjamin Brandin, Benny Fresquez, Michael Sisneros, Rocky Fresquez, Eugene Fresquez, and Marshall Fresquez, honorary pallbearers, Sadie Night, William Quintana, Alvin Quintana, Danny Sisneros, Stephanie Ibarra Rivera, Addison Benvenuto, Lucas Ibarra Rivera, Stephen Ibarra Rivera, Brandin Ibarra-Rivera, Mary Benvenuto, Joshua Montoya, Andrew Yustat, and Alyssa Yustat. The family of Amanda Rolfes has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.\r\n
