Amado Jr. Romero

Amado Romero Jr., 69, known to friends and family as “Sonny” and a resident of San Ildefonso Pueblo, passed away suddenly Friday, February 20, 2015. Sonny was preceded in death by Amado Romero Sr., Eufemia Romero, Cristie Romero, Tillie Lacke, John Romero, and Carol Romero. He recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with his wife Ramona. Sonny was employed 20 plus years as a painter at LANL until he retired. He enjoyed camping, hunting, helping friends, spending time with his family, visiting with friends, working outdoors and gardening. Sonny’s greatest passion was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he cherished. Sonny will always be remembered as a kind, generous, funny, jack of all trades. Sonny is survived by his wife Ramona Romero; sons, Chris Romero and wife Judianne, Gabriel Romero, daughters, Bernadette Romero, Cassandra Kawka and husband Michael; grandsons, Daniel Romero and wife Monique, Patrick Romero, Gabriel Amado Romero, Gabriel Daniel Romero, granddaughters, Arianna Chavez and husband Grant, Leticia Vigil and husband Richard, Dominique Gonzales, and Natasha Romero, great-granddaughters, Trinity Romero, and Nevaeh Romero, great-grandson, Dominic Romero; brother, Atanacio Romero, sisters, Sobie Chavez, Mary Madore, and Judy Romero. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Ildefonso Church. The family of Amado “Sonny” Romero Jr., has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n \r\n
