Amada Gallegos

Amada S Gallegos was born November 30, 1932, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, at the age of 91. She was born in Chamita to Marcos & Germana Sisneros. She lost her mother at the age of 14 and raised her 3 siblings (Alex & Gilbert Sisneros and Lina Jaramillo) and then later married Roberto Gallegos and lived in Chili for 70 years and raised her 7 children, 4 grandkids and 1 great granddaughter. 

She was preceded in death by her Parents Marcos and Germana Sisneros, In-Laws: Salamon and Beronice Gallegos, Siblings: Lucia, Ernesto and Theresa, Husband: Roberto Gallegos, Sons: Tomas and Leonard Gallegos, Grandson raised by her: Thomas Gallegos and Granddaughter Monica Martinez and several other relatives. 

She is survived by her remaining children: Carolina Gallegos that lived with her for her entire life, Germana (Gilbert) Gallegos, Sandra (Felipe) Salazar, Angela Roark (Albert) Elmer (Francis) and 3 grandkids that she raised as her own: Benjie (Lori) Martinez, Amanda (Raul) Munoz, Francisco (Jessica) Gallegos and 1 great granddaughter who was raised like her own: Zendaya Gallegos and 18 grand kids, 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. 

Amada was a stay-at-home wife and mother for her whole life, she enjoyed cooking, Dancing, talking with her family, and being in the beauty of the outdoors where she loved cleaning around the yard, planting flowers watering her garden. She also enjoyed looking at the stars with her grandson Antonio and sharing wild mint (Yerbuena). She enjoyed dancing to Northern New Mexican music where she would try and get her grandson Francisco to dance with her. She enjoyed making jelly and canning fruit and enjoyed taking a nightly walk and enjoyed life to the fullest.

The family would like to thank Amber Care and their staff, her caregivers: Carolina and Germana Gallegos, Tom and Mary Polar, Louana Trujillo for taking her the blessed sacrament on Sundays, and her granddaughters who helped take care of her while she was in the nursing home.

A Rosary will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:30 am at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, NM, with Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the cemetery in Chili, NM. (Rosary recited by: Benjie and Lori Martinez).
