Alyce M. Sutton, 81, a resident of Los Alamos, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Alyce was born in Revere, Massachusetts where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, John T. Sutton Sr., in September of 1956. Alyce was a devoted wife to her husband as well as a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In 1972 they moved to Los Alamos, NM, where Alyce immediately became involved in the community. She became a member of the Over the Hill Hikers group and joined the Los Alamos Bridge League. Alyce soon became an accomplished bridge player and achieved Life Master from the American Contract Bridge League in 1993. She attended and served in the library and giving sacraments at her church. Alyce enjoyed playing golf, bowling and traveling the world. She was an excellent seamstress and a fantastic cook. \r\nAlyce was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Comeau. She is survived by her spouse, John T. Sutton Sr. of Los Alamos; brother, Joseph Fred Comeau of Nova Scotia, Canada; sisters Mae Noonan of Revere MA; Barbara Wiegman and Joan Comeau both of Saugus MA; son, John T. Sutton Jr. and wife Shelli of Albuquerque and their children, Alyce Kincanon of London, UK, Matthew Sutton of Albuquerque; son James Sutton of Albuquerque; son David Sutton and wife Gillian of Los Alamos, and their children, David Arellano of Portales, Michaelle Sutton of Los Alamos; daughter, Carolann “Charlie” Cody and husband Kenneth of Robinson, TX, and their children, Daryl Cody of San Diego, CA, Dustin Cody and Daniel Cody both of Houston, TX, Kenneth James Cody and Joseph Cody both of Robinson, TX; great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Nikolas and Thurston Kincanon; and many nieces and nephews.\r\n Services will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Friday, April 17th at 1:30 PM with interment to follow at Guaje Pines cemetery in Los Alamos. The family of Alyce M. Sutton has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
