Alvin R. Vigil, age 64, a resident of Española, NM, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 10, 2015. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ramona Vigil; brothers, Alfonso and Larry; in laws, Ramon and Helen Salazar; and close uncle, Tomas Vigil. Mr. Vigil is survived by his wife of 42 years Angela Vigil of Española; sons, Eric Vigil and wife Tammy, Matthew Vigil and wife Kristy and Vincent Vigil and Fiancée Maureen Armijo all of Española; grandchildren, Eric Jr., Bryanna, Isaiah, Mary, JohnPaul and Noah; brothers and sisters, Richard Vigil and wife Eliza of Santa Cruz, Joe Vigil and wife Ethel of Santa Clara, Armando Vigil and wife Frances of Española, Elizabeth Vanschaemelhout and husband Andy of Belen and Eleanor Vigil of Albuquerque; God children, Julie Vigil, Nycole Trujillo, Elias Salazar, Kristy Vigil, Isaiah Vigil and Frankie Vigil; brother in law, Donald Salazar and wife Tonie of Los Angeles, CA; sisters in law, Stella Martinez of La Mesilla and Vangie Salazar of Fairview, as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 14, in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Española. Assisting as pallbearer will be Vincent Vigil. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren. The family of Alvin R. Vigil has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
