Alonso "Henry", aka "Black Oak" Pena

Alonso “Henry” Pena, aka, “Black Oak”, 74, a resident of Servilleta Plaza, NM, passed away on October 5, 2024, of a short illness. 

Alonso was preceded in death by his parents Rodolfo and Bersabe Pena, brothers Rudy Jr. and Harold Pena.

Alonso, a lifelong resident of Servilleta Plaza, where he was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He worked for General Motors in California for 10 years and worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory for 6 years. He enjoyed watering his fields, going for wood, picking pinon, and enjoyed going to the casino. He will be missed by all. 

Alonso is survived by his daughter Angela Epps; grandchildren Caleb and Cameron Epps, and Amelia Polin; brothers Bertram and Hilda Pena, and Michael Pena; sister-in-law Diolinda Pena and Laura Quintana; nephews Raymond Pena, Kevin Pena (Monica), Moises Pena (Victoria), and Nicholas Pena (Crystal); nieces Pam Martinez (Richard), Wilma Gutierrez (Frank), Jenny Pena (Jade), Vanessa Pena, Myrna Montoya (Paul), Leticia Trujillo (Michael) and Sarah Pena (Daniel); many great nephews and nieces. Also survived by a special friend Karen Burkheimer. 

A Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente, NM, Rosary to follow at 1:00 p.m., and Mass at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Servilleta Plaza Community Cemetery.
