Alicia - 94 - Chimayo - Martinez

Alicia M. Martinez – Age 94 a resident of Chimayo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eliseo Martinez; daughter, Lillian Pacheco; son, Jerry Martinez; son, Jesse Martinez; and brother, Delfino Martinez. She loved to study her bible. She was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and was very accepting of all. She is survived by her granddaughter, Nancy Pacheco; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Pacheco both of the home; son, Ruben Martinez of Albuquerque; daughters: Cruzita McClendon of North Carolina, Corine Serna and husband Lionel of Chimayo, Mary Romero and husband Chris of Chimayo and Lita Martinez of Las Vegas; grandson, Bennie Pacheco of Oregon; brothers: Elias Martinez of Las Vegas, NM and Adelido Martinez and wife Browly of Oregon; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A rosary will be recited on on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with Mass of Christian burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Tony Gallegos, Kevin Griego, James Martinez, Jeremy Martinez, Christopher Romero and Eddie Pacheco. Honorary pallbearers named are, Bennie Pacheco, Michael Pacheco and Steven Griego. The family of Alicia M. Martinez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
