Alice Arellano, 78, a lifelong resident of Dixon passed away after a short illness on Monday, March 26, 2012. She was a beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. Alice loved gardening, traveling and cooking. Alice loved her family & friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerson Arellano; infant son, Ralph Arellano; parents, Jose Dolores and Juanita Valdez; siblings: Gregorita Sanchez, Bernice Archuleta, Zacarias Valdez, Silas Valdez, Laura Duran and Lucia Segura. Alice is survived by her children: Ralph Arellano of Dixon, Beatrice Mullin and husband Jim of Ohio, James Arellano and wife JoAnna Ortiz of Arroyo Seco, Eddie Arellano and wife Emelita of Kodiak, Alaska, and Tim Arellano and wife Irene of Kodiak, Alaska; grandchildren: Roy, Ralph Jr., Nickie, Andrea, Amanda, Renee, Eddie Jr., Valerie, Olivia, Savannah and Alyssa Arellano; siblings: Celina Sanchez, Rose De Herrera, and Ben Valdez; godsons: Benjy Valdez and Louie Gonzales; special thanks to Shirley Archuleta and her family for their unwavering devotion and care. Public visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Embudo Presbyterian Church in Dixon with burial to follow at Presbyterian Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Roy, Ralph Jr. and Eddie Arellano Jr., Wayne and Victor Archuleta and Steve De Herrera; honorary pall bearers: Benjy Valdez and Louie Gonzales. The family of Alice Arellano has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
