Alfredo Lucero

ALFREDO LUCERO, 88, a resident of El Rito, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Margaret; parents, Felix Lucero and Florinda, sons, Patrick and Tommy Lucero; brother, Marshal Lucero, sister, Miquela Treveno. Alfredo retired from the Dunes Casino in Las Vegas and later moved to El Rito. He loved spending time with his family. Alfredo is survived by his loving children, Florinda Ruiz and husband Sergio, David Lucero (JoAnn), Raymond Lucero and Lorraine Romero (Pat); grandkids, Donna Jimenez and husband Jose and their son, Jose Jr., Gilbert Romero (Lorena), Patrick Romero, and Patricia Alire and Fiancé Lorenzo Salazar who cared for him; grandchildren, raised by him Neto Abeyta and Kristina Mercado; and many other family and friends; sister-in-law, Gaby Lucero. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a wake service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers, Neto Abeyta, Lorenzo Salazar, Rodney Manzanares, Eric Manzanares and Raymond Romero.
