Alfonso Ruiz

Alfonso Ruiz, age 85, a lifelong resident of Alcalde, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 after an illness. He came to Alcalde as a dedicated carpenter. Alfonso is survived by his love of his life, Modesta Ruiz, who both lived a happy life together for 37 years; his children, Lidia Alamos and husband Arturo Alamos, Manuel Salcido and Alfredo Salcido; a granddaughter who was like his daughter, Esperanza Villareal and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alfonso will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alcalde. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alcalde with burial to follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery. The family of Alfonso Ruiz has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
