Alfonso Alquin Cordova

Alfonso Alquin Cordova, 84, of Gallina, New Mexico passed away January 27, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Alfonso was born on June 5, 1939.  He was a man of great faith, wisdom, and knowledge.  He had a great sense of humor; always making his family and friends laugh.  Alfonso was the cornerstone of his family. We all sought advice, encouragement and guidance from him.  The highlight of his life was spending time with his family.  He loved traveling with them, enjoyed watching wrestling, going fishing, camping and the great outdoors.  We will cherish the memories made with him forever in our hearts.  

Alfonso is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eufelia Cordova; son Alfonso Cordova Jr.; parents Samuel Cordova and Rosana Martinez Cordova; brothers Jose O Cordova, Mardoqueo Cordova, Daniel Cordova and Sammy Cordova; sister Bernadette Cordova Gonzales; his In-laws Adronico and Isaida Gallegos.

He is survived by his six daughters, Emily Cordova Martinez (Floyd), Donna Jacquez (Steve), Julia Salazar (Fermin), Anna Marie Cordova, Grace Cordova and Clariza Cordova (Joe); his son Timothy Cordova; sisters Onofre Sanchez, Victoria Lovato, Josefa Martinez, Mary Madrid, Nanci Livingston, Emma Cordova, Gloria Hockenhull, and brother Bobby Cordova; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation will be on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm at New Hope Christian Church in El Llano, NM, with a Devotional Service to follow at 6:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina, NM.

Serving as Pallbearers are Fermin Salazar Jr., Jonathan Martinez, Shane Hernandez, Joseph Cordova, Timothy Cordova and Jodey Dominick.
