Alejandro Dwight Lopez (Ale), 21, a resident of Vallecitos, and most recently of Hernandez, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on March 25, 1993, the son of Denise Lopez and Joseph Henry Lopez. Ale was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Antonio M. Jaramillo of Vallecitos; his uncle, Leonardo E. Jaramillo, Sr.; his God-brother, Leonardo E. Jaramillo, Jr., of El Rito; paternal grandfather, Presciliano Lopez; and his uncle, Gerald Lopez both of El Rito. Alejandro was a very kind, generous, and respectful young man and he loved his family and friends. He will mostly be remembered for finding humor in the everyday trials and tribulations of life. He was a fun-loving person, and he was always joking around. He attended the Mesa Vista Schools, and he was a member of the basketball team as well as the baseball team. He graduated from Mesa Vista High School in 2011. Most recently, he was a member of the Riders Only Crew. He was also a member of the Army National Guard in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. His unit, the 919th MP CO, will perform full military honors. Alejandro is survived by his father, Joseph Henry Lopez of Vallecitos, his mother, Denise Lopez, and stepfather, Leonard Martinez of Hernandez; sister, Antonique Lopez of Hernandez; step-brother, Leonard Martinez, Jr. (Veronica) of Española, step-sister, Tanya Martinez of Santa Fe; maternal grandmother, Fidelia Jaramillo of Vallecitos; uncle, Anthony Jaramillo (Mercie) of Española, aunts, Kathleen Ngirbedul (Ephenio) of Denver, aunt and God-mother, Diana Jaramillo (Jerry) of Vallecitos, and Antonette Jaramillo of Rio Rancho; paternal grandmother, Maria Lopez of El Rito; uncles, Donald Alire (Cindy) of El Rito; Rudy Sisneros (Lorie) of Tesuque; aunts, Nora Bustos (Ricky) of Ranchitos; Lloyda Lopez (Leroy) of El Rito; Cecilia Lopez (Greg) of El Rito; and Inez Ortega (Joe) of Peñasco and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday and Friday, February 5 and 6, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Vallecitos Catholic Cemetery with the members of the Army National Guard serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include all of Ale’s cousins and friends, and members of the Riders Only Crew.
