Adrián Antonio Maria Jaramillo III, 34, a resident of Española, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born on July 17, 1983, the son of Anthony Jaramillo and the late, Mercedes Jaramillo. Adrián was preceded in death by his mother, Mercedes Jaramillo; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Merlinda Salazar of Las Vegas, NM; his sister-in-law, Valerie Valdez of Albuquerque; his uncles, Luis Daniel Salazar and Richard Padilla of Las Vegas, NM. Adrián was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and godfather, Antonio Maria Jaramillo, Sr. of Vallecitos; his uncle, Leonardo E. Jaramillo, Sr. of Vallecitos; and his cousins, Leonardo Jaramillo, Jr. of Vallecitos, and Alejandro D. Lopez of Chili. Adrián is a 2001 graduate of Mesa Vista High School. He attended Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colorado, where he took classes in Outdoor Recreation. He loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed helping his dad at the ranch in Vallecitos. He was very artistic, and he loved drawing. Adrián was intelligent, respectful, kind, generous, and friendly towards everyone that he met. He loved his nephews and nieces very much, and he loved to play pranks on them and scare them. He also loved and cared for his pets and other animals as well. Adrián is survived by his father, Anthony Jaramillo of Espanola; brother, Matthew Valdez of Albuquerque; sister, Daisha Valdez of Albuquerque; nieces, Asia Valdez and Honey Mercedes Valdez; nephews, Elija Valdez and Mario Valdez; aunts, Vangie Roybal (Tony), Christine Torrez (Oliver), Frances Duran (Alex), Geraldine Padilla, Josie Roybal (Dwayne), Monica Hines (Bruce); uncle, Steve Salazar (Lydia). Adrian is also survived by his paternal grandmother and God-mother, Fidelia Jaramillo of Vallecitos; aunts, Kathleen Ngirbedul (Ephenio) of Denver, Diana Jaramillo (Jerry) of Vallecitos, Denise Lopez (Leonard) of Chili, and Antonette Jaramillo of Rio Rancho. Adrián is also survived by his first cousins and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial will follow at Vallecitos Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Elija Burton, James Garcia, Josh Harris, Jeremy Ngirbedul, Leonard Martinez, and Ephenio Ngirbedul. Honorary pallbearers will include all of Adrián’s nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family of Adrián Jaramillo has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
