ADONILIA ROMERO, 81, a resident of Española, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013, surrounded by her loving family y su angel de guardia, following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo and Margarita Ortega; brothers and sisters and other relatives and friends where she will join them in paradise. Adonilia was a well known woman throughout the Española Valley who always had her door open for everyone. She loved gardening and shared her fruits and vegetables with all who came by. Her heart was an open door for everyone. She loved spending time with her family and friends but most of all her treasure of a husband. She never said goodbye but always closed with a Christian message to all along with vaya con dios. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Romero is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eliseo Romero; son, Ernesto Antonio Romero (Mary Lee); daughters, Carmen Romero Hudson (Curtis) and Bernadette Martinez (George); grandchildren, Orlando Romero (Patricia), Veronica Romero, Eliseo Romero, Jr. (Cynthia), Augustine Romero, Angel Helen Gonzales (Stevie), Spring Jennifer House (Steve), Monica Amy Martinez (Steve), Kathleen Vanessa Golik (Konrad); great-grandchildren, Antonio Dominguez, Angelita and Orlando Romero, Jr., Jayden and Richard Vargas, Eli Eliseo Romero, Dyonne, Liesha and Jodee Sedillos, Rihanna Gonzales, Jennifer Candelaria, Dylan and Mariah Duran, Kyle House, Aiden Bransford and Kaden Golik; brothers, Diego Ortega; nephew raised as a brother, Juan Ortega; sisters, Maggie Ortega (Quirino), Cora Ortega (Rafael), Leah Gallegos and Emma Pacheco; brother-in-law, Hiloramio Romero (Isabel); sister-in-law, Estefana Romero and su angel de guardia Maria Biddy and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Orlando Romero, Eliseo Romero, Jr., Augustine Romero, Antonio Dominguez, Dylan Duran and Steve Bransford.
