Adela (Della) Vigil

ADELA P. VIGIL (DELLA), 80, a resident of Chimayo passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florian and Patrocinia Montoya; husband, Levi Vigil; son, Albert “Sonny” Vigil; grandson, Isaac Vigil, granddaughters, Jackie and Deanne Vigil; brothers, Orlando, Manuel, Felipe and Labriano Montoya, sisters, Delfinia Montoya and Ignacita Trujillo; and special nephew, Larry Montoya. Della was born on October 1, 1937 and she lived a very full and happy life. Della was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, listening to Darren Cordova, raising peacocks and especially spending time with her family. Della is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Vigil (Archie) of La Puebla and Roselene Vigil (Gilbert) of Chimayo; grandson, Patrick, great-granddaughter, Reanna of La Puebla, granddaughter, Daisy Vigil of Chimayo, granddaughter, Louella (Leon), great-grandsons, Matthew (Samantha), Archie (Mariah), Derrick (Franchesca), and great-great grandson, Isiah all of Chimayo; brother, Gilbert (Maria) Montoya of Arroyo Seco; sister, Genoveva (Ernesto) Archuleta of Chimayo; a very dear close sister-in-law, Carolina Montoya, Lugarda Montoya of Chimayo; special nieces, Finnie Gonzales of Denver, CO and Peggy Maida Montoya of Chimayo. A wake service will begin on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers are, Patrick Vigil, Matthew Martinez, Archie Vigil, Derrick Vigil, Jody Archuleta and Peggy Maida Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be: Daisy, Reanna, Isiah, Louella, Finnie, Samantha, Franchesca, Mariah, Carleena, Arsenio, Judy, Annette, Shirley, Crucita, Geraldine, Tommy, Betty and Sylvia.
