\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Acorcinio O. Romero, 91, a resident of Cordova passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo Romero and Beneranda Romero; step-mother, Maggie Romero; granddaughters, Stephanie and Jessica. Acorcinio was a WWII veteran. He worked at for the Los Alamos National Laboratory for 35 years. He loved the outdoors and tending to his cattle. His pride and joy was his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Tonnie Romero of Cordova; children, Trinnie Romero Archuleta of Cordova, Nora Chavez and husband John of Albuquerque, Betty Ortiz and husband Lawrence of Cordova, Beneranda Vigil and companion Joe Romero, Gloria Vigil and husband Jesse of Chimayo, Roy Romero and wife Emily of Cordova, and Josephine Torres of Cordova; brothers and sisters, Alfredo Romero and wife Floraida, Fidel Romero, Charles Romero and wife Ermelinda, Evila Romero, Oclides Romero and husband Nabor, Rosinia Romero and husband Isabro, and Viola Martinez and late husband Reyes; step-sister, Emma Lucero; brother-in-law, Feliciano Sandoval; special friends, Cristobal and Sabinita Ortiz; special cousins, Nestor and Cippia Dominguez, Clorinda Romero, and numerous other loved family, friends, and neighbors; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A public visitation will begin on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, a devotional service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, burial will follow at the Cordova Presbyterian Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Danny Archuleta, Stephanie Chavez, Andrew Ortiz, Leroy, Tony and Carlos Vigil, Roy Romero, Jr., Matthew and Fabian Torres. Honorary pallbearers are all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family of Acorcinio O. Romero has placed their trust in DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. \r\n
