With sorrow and Thanksgiving, we announce the passing of Abenicio Lopez, who was called home on March 23. He was a lifetime resident of Chamisal. Lopez was born in Ojito on November 1, 1928, to Pedro and Quirina.
Awaiting in heaven are his grandma Garcia, whom he loved and cherished, his parents, wife Ercilia, daughter Belinda, his boys Lee Roy, Tommy, Joey, Angel, Bobby, Adam, and Pete, grandson Travis, and his beloved horse, Whitey, who carried him for many years.
He leaves behind with broken hearts his daughter Kathy, six granddaughters, twenty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and many other loved ones.
With a dusty trail of 95 years, Lopez lived a busy, full, long life. Some sorrowful, some joyful, but God always made sure he was ohkay. With Gods abundant blessings he still chose to live a simple cowboy life.
Dad, your work on earth is done. How we cried the day you left. I wish we could’ve seen the angels as they gathered to greet you and lead you home. Gracias por todas tus bendiciones y nos enceniates bien. We will be ohkay.
Thank you to all who helped my dad or showed him kindness. May God bless you.
The family of Abenicio Lopez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley. www.devargasfuneral.com 505-747-7477
