Abel "Grampa Happy" Age - 65 - Espa Gurule

ABEL “GRAMPA HAPPY” GURULE, 65, a resident of Española, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 following a sudden and unexpected illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Gurule; son, Paul Gurule; parents, Evaristo and Martina Gurule; nephew, A.J. Trujillo; in-laws: Victor and Melecia Trujillo and special aunt, Tia Ina Martinez. On Saturday, June 30, a bright light dimmed and left a void that can never be filled when we lost our father, grandfather, brother, best friend and uncle and everyone’s life he touched. Mr. Gurule is survived by his son, Steven G. Gurule; daughter, Pamela Espinoza and husband Kenneth all of Española; grandchildren, Jeremy Espinoza of Española; Ashley Espinoza and fiancé Michael Garcia of Portales and Arianna and Tamara Espinoza both of Española; brothers and sisters: Corine Pacheco and husband Arthur of Hawthorne, CA, Mary Graham and husband David of Las Cruces, Presciliano Gurule and wife Opilia of Española, Mary Jane Rael and husband Juan of Milan, NM, Leo Gurule and wife Fidelia of Española, Gilbert Gurule of Las Vegas, Nevada and Bernadette Salazar and husband Gabriel of Ranchitos; God-daughter, Camille Salazar; God-son, Ron Trujillo both of Santa Fe; concentida, Krystina Mendoza of Española; sister-in-law, Susie Trujillo and husband Alfred; brothers-in-law: Joe Trujillo, Fred Trujillo and wife Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe with the following serving as pallbearers, Michael Garcia, Robert Pacheco, Mario Mendoza, Clarence Atencio, Timmy Lopez, Gabriel Salazar, Leanne Martinez and Felicia Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers named are his grandchildren, Jeremy, Ashley, Tamara and Arianna; God-daughter, Camille; God-son, Ron; concentida, Krystina and special friend, Judy.
