Ronnie "Moosie" Hector Martinez 59 died February 8, 2017 of natural causes in Reno, Nevada.
Ronnie was born June 11,1957 in Butte Montana to Hector J Martinez and Dolores T Quintero Martinez. Ronnie spent his grammar years in Montana and then the family moved to his dad's hometown of Chimayo, New Mexico. After reaching adulthood Ronnie left Chimayo to go live closer to his sister Juanita Porteous in Northern Nevada. Ronnie found work in Reno and quickly decided it was his new home. Ronnie loved the Reno/Tahoe area and the bright lights of the casinos. Ronnie worked in various casinos and after work would sit down and loved to watch people. Ronnie asked for nothing in life and lived it his way simple and content. Ronnie was a friend to all that met him and he would give you his last dollar even if you didn't need it. His only requirement was to be around friends and family, nothing more. Ronnie later met a little lady named Gloria Martinez whom he spent the next twenty years with. Gloria had an adopted grandson "Buddy" which Ronnie treated as his own blood. Ronnie "Moosie" beloved son, brother and uncle will be dearly missed by all of us.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father Hector, his baby brother Carmen and nephew Michael "Mikie" Esquibel. Ronnie is survived by his mother Dolores, his brothers Kenny and Ricky Martinez, his "sister mom" Juanita Porteous (Kevin), sisters Anita "Doll" Esquibel (Max), and Gina Martinez (Carlos), Gloria Martinez and "Buddy", many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Arrangements are being made by his sister Juanita Porteous and services will be posted at a later date.
