Raphael Montoya

RAPHAEL R. MONTOYA, 56, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Flora Montoya and father-in-law, Ezequiel Trujillo. He always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a great mentor that touched the heart of everyone that crossed his path. He was an amazing cook and was well known for his great carpentry work. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Mr. Montoya is survived by his wife, Loyola Montoya; son, Emilio Montoya (Desiree); siblings, Gene Montoya (Patty), Shirley Fresquez (Conce), Pearl Lucero (Eloy) and Faith Vigil (Joe); grandchildren, Emilio Montoya, Jr. and Samuel Montoya; brothers-in-law, Lorenzo, Jose and Alonzo Trujillo and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with the burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Carmel Cemetery also in Chimayo. The family of Raphael R. Montoya has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
