MILTON GLENN LOCKHART, a longtime resident of White Rock, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and Pete Lockhart; brother, James Walter. Glenn worked for the Zia Company in Los Alamos as an accountant and later as a Systems Analyst. The NM Health and Social Services as a controller and was hired by the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (Later LANL) in 1976. Through the years he worked in wage and salary, personnel, Administrative Processing and Budget. He served on the ES&H Coordination Team for 15 months to prepare for a DOE Tiger Team inspection. Glenn retired from LANL in 1993 as a program manager for Recharge Programs. After retirement Glenn worked for 5 years as a part-time management consultant with the Delphi Group. He contributed to the Los Alamos Community as a participant on the Los Alamos Board and commissions and as an advisor to non-profit organizations by advising people with their health care options. He served as a volunteer counselor for the NM Aging and long-Term Service, he attended the school of Law Basic Mediation course and volunteered as Mediator with the Ombuds Office. He earned a certification as a Coach and served with the LANL executive training program. On April 23, 2006, Glenn was named a Los Alamos Living Treasurer for his many years of volunteer service and on October 4, 2006, he and his wife were recognized for their many years of service (42 years) at the Immaculate Heart of May parish and by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe by receiving the St. Francis of Assisi Award. He played his guitar for many of the services. Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marcella; daughter, Margaret (Pete) Garcia and by his brothers, Guy Robert (Sandra) and Thomas Lee (Diana deceased). Glenn was born in Goliad, Texas. After graduation from Goliad High School, he attended The University of Texas in Austin and the UNM Robert O. Anderson School of Business (MBA). He served in the US Army as a Personnel Sergeant Field Command Training Group at Sandia Base, NM. A rosary will be recited on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Milton Glenn Lockhart has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
