Michael Garcia

MICHAEL ROBERT GARCIA, 45, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ismael Garcia, aunts, Elisa Garcia, Josephine Roybal and husband, Serafin, uncle, Gilbert Garcia; parents Lionel and Martha Garcia, and sister, Martina Garcia. Michael was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Desert Storm. He was a heavy equipment operator, and a carpenter. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved being with his family. He is survived by his brothers, Tommy Barela and wife Angela, Santo Arrieta and wife, Stephanie, Lionel Jr. (Kung Fu) and wife Louise and their children, Lionel Garcia III, Desiree Lopez and husband Andrew, Felipe Garcia his sons, Aaron, Adrian and Antonio Garcia, Andrew Garcia and his daughters, Nevaeh Flores and Ellie Garcia, sister, Liza Hite and husband Peter and their sons, Wesley and Charles Hite; grandmother, Rosa Garcia; uncles, Ismael Garcia and wife Ruth, Jose Garcia, aunts, Grace Garcia, Erma Pearson and husband Robert, Rosita Shoemaker and husband Clint, Dolores (Lola) Naranjo and Rita McAllaster and husband Bill and numerous other family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Michael Robert Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
