Meloney Sanchez

MELONEY SANCHEZ , age 60, a resident of Lyden, went with our Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Randy and Shawn Warrick; her parents, Ronald D. and Mary Ellen Warrick; and her son, Juan DeJesus Sanchez. Meloney is survived by her husband, Juan Sanchez; daughters, April Maestas and husband Mario of El Guique and Cecilia Velarde and husband Jose of Ojo Sarco; granddaughters, Anna Maria (Anikka Garcia) and Selena Velarde, Alissa and Arianna Maestas; grandsons, Jose Velarde Jr. and Mario Maestas; her sisters, Paula Corral and husband Manuel, Felicia Davis and husband Mike, as well as many other beloved and cherished family members. Meloney loved her family beyond words, especially her grandchildren. She had a heart of gold when it came to her family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed being extremely active with her church. She cherished all her confirmation students and loved them as if they were her own children. Meloney was dedicated to helping others, whether it was wanting others to better their health and well-being while she worked as an office manger for Espanola Family Chiropractic or by being a grief counselor with the hospitals making herself available day or night to help families to deal with the loss of their children, specifically, but not limited to babies who passed due to SIDs. Meloney’s passing leaves a huge void in many people’s lives and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A rosary will be recited on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a Mass of Christian burial to be follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. She will be laid to rest at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Velarde with the following serving as pallbearers, Mario Maestas, Anna Maria Velarde, Selena Velarde, Alissa Maestas, Arianna Maestas and little Mario Maestas. Honorary pallbearers named are, Manuel Corral, Manuel Corral Jr. and Jose Velarde Jr. The family of Meloney Sanchez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
