Louisa T. Evans of Abiquiu, 78, a lifelong resident of Abiquiu, passed away in the early morning of Friday, March 22, 2019 after a lengthy battle with MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose C. and Belen V. Trujillo; husband, Jim Evans; son, Lloyd Ray Evans, sisters, Lala Garcia, Rosie McCall and most recently her brother Floyd Trujillo.
Louisa was retired from Ghost Ranch where she worked as a Manager of Housekeeping. During her retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her family, when she wasn’t bowling. She was also a proud member of La Sagrada Familia, Abiquiu Chapter. Louisa is survived by her children, Debbie Carrillo (Charlie), Aubrey Evans, Jimmy Lee Howell (Jody); sisters, Josie Valdez and Frances Martinez, Charlotte Gatt (Richard), brother, Jimmy Trujillo (Debbie Ann); grandchildren, Estrellita Carrillo-Garcia (Larry), Roan Carrillo, Danielray Evans, Sean Howell, Derik Howell, Cara Howell, Kyle Howell, Casey Howell, Christopher Thompson, great-grandchildren, Larry Angel Garcia, Gianna Dominique Garcia; beloved friend Marytoni Chacon-Padilla (Tino) and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the staff at Santa Fe Care Center especially her friend Jenny her bingo partner.
The family welcomes you to join in celebration of the life of Louisa on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 7:45 p.m. for the most Holy Rosary at St. Thomas Apostle Church in Abiquiu. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Abiquiu Cemetery.
